Symposium
"English Language Education: Changing Practices from Local and International Perspectives".
November 18th- 19th, 2008; Al Yamamah College, Riyadh, Kingdom of Saudi Arabia
Since its foundation in autumn 2004, Al Yamamah College has established itself at the forefront of educational innovation and excellence in the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia. Building on the success of its first educational symposium in spring 2005, Al Yamamah college is pleased to announce its second symposium this winter. The symposium is scheduled to take place on November 18th to 19th, 2008, and is titled: "English Language Education: Changing Practices from Local and International Perspectives".
As the title suggests, the symposium aims to bring together a variety of professionals involved in the field of English language education (henceforth referred to as ELE) in Saudi Arabia and beyond. We hope to examine ELE in a broad context, examining its role in the professional, cultural, academic and international spheres. To this end, we are soliciting contributions from individuals who are interested in presenting a paper or facilitating a workshop at the symposium. Such individuals need not necessarily be working in the academic world, but may come from any professional field which touches on ELE.
